Semasa Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) maupun Sekolah Dasar (SD) pastinya akan diberikan pembelajaran tentang matematika dasar yang berupa pertambahan, pengurangan, perkalian serta pembagian. Pembelajaran tersebut diberikan untuk memberikan pengetahuan pada anak-anak untuk memahami kegunaannya bagi kehidupan sehari-hari seperti sejumlah uang yang kemudian diberikan pada beberapa orang secara merata dan ditentukan hasil yang seharusnya diperoleh setiap orang. Penjabaran tersebut merupakan salah satu kegunaan dari hasil pembelajaran matematika tingkat TK maupun SD.
Umumnya semenjak SD sudah diajarkan tentang perkalian, pembagian, penjumlahan maupun pengurangan dalam sebuah persamaan aljabar seperti (ax + ay) + (bx – by) = 0 dan lain sebagainya. Dalam matematika yang harus diselesiakan terlebih dahulu adalah persamaan dengan menggunakan perkalian atau pembagian yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan persamaan dengan menggunakan penjumlahan atau pengurangan. Misal dalam sebuah contoh: (aX + aY) + (bX – bY) = …. , jika a = 2, b = 1, X = 2, dan Y = 3, maka yang harus dilakukan terselebih dahulu adalah mensubstitusikan nilai-nilai tersebut pada persamaan sehingga menghasilkan (2×2 + 2×3) + (1×2 – 1×3) = …… , setelah disubstitusikan, yang harus dilakukan yaitu menyelesaikan persamaan yang terdapat perkaliannya dilanjutkan dengan penjumlahan sehingga hasil yang didapatkan adalah pada sebuah persamaan aljabar seperti (ax + ay) + (bx – by) = 0, a dan b adalah konstanta tetap sedangkan x dan y merupakan variable yang dapat berubah. Namun, tahukah bahwa dibalik pembelajaran yang begitu sederhana tersebut mengandung makna yang begitu besar untuk sebuah gerakan dalam mempertahankan keutuhan bangsa.
Dari contoh diatas sudah dapat dilihat fungsi dari perkalian, pembagian, pemjumlahan dan pengurangan. Dimana perkalian merupakan penggabungan, dan pembagain sebagai pemecahan. Jika dimisalkan pada sebuah gerakan maka semakin bergabung sebuah kekuatan dengan kekuatan lainnya akan semakin besar pula kekuatannya dan semakin terpecah sebuah gerakan akan memperlemah kekuatan dari gerakan tersebut. Jika dimasukkan dalam penjumlahan maupun pengurangan, maka kekuatan yang lebih besar akan mengalahkan kekuatan yang kecil sehingga kekuatan yang besar akan mendominasi dari kekuatan-kekuatan tersebut.
Begitupun ketika dimasukkan kedalam ranah kebangsaan masyarakat Indonesia jika kekuatan (persatuan) bangsa Indonesia semakin terpecah akan mengakibatkan kekalahan oleh kelompok-kelompok yang bergabung baik itu bersifar positif (pemersatu bangsa) maupun bersifat negatif (pemecah bangsa). Tentunya dari semua itu dipengaruhi oleh variable – variable perubah yang mampu mempengaruhi persepsi dari masyarakat, misal dengan kekuatan pemecah bangsa (dalam hal ini Front Pembela Islam (FPI), Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), dll) yang dengan menggunakan entitas agama sebagai gerakannya dengan mengusulkan dalil-dalil yang mendukung gerakan mereka. Dalil – dalil tersebut merupakan variable peubah yang dapat merubah persepsi masyarakat yang sudah mengakui keislamannya.
Sekarang apa yang harus kita lalukan? Salah satu hal yang harus dilakukan yaitu dengan menguatkan variabel – variabel peubahnya seperti pemahaman tentang pancasila dan persatuan seluruh entitas dalam mendukung tegaknya Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI). Setelah berbagai pemaparan tersebut tinggal saatnya untuk memilih memecah atau menyatukan.
